The Battle Axes are pleased to support Don’t Mind Me, a Mental Health charity that promotes mental heath awareness and suicide prevention.

As a cricket club we believe that each persons mental well being is important and we all as individuals need to be mindful that different approaches will help different people.

Don’t Mind Me help to educate & identify mental health problems: the causes, signs, symptoms, and behaviours, treatment and support options that relate to stress and anxiety, and depression.

Recent statistics show that ‘1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. In England, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety & depression) in any given week’.

Club captain Matty Beckett explains why the charity is important to the club -

“Given these eye opening stats, there is a high probability that every cricket club will have players or members suffering, often without feeling as though they can speak up, so we feel it is vitality important to raise awareness that there is support available through friends, family & team mates”.

Cricket Chairman Johnny Stevens added “We as a club are delighted to endorse the work of this great charity, particularly at a time of year that can be very difficult for many.”

The club will work closely with Don’t Mind Me from 2020.
