Woodliffe Takes the Helm

A recent pre-season meeting has seen a couple of roles change hands, most significantly on the playing front.

After 3 fantastically successful seasons in charge Des Healey has decided that the time is right to hand over the 2nd XI captaincy to current vice captain Martyn Woodliffe for the 2018 season.

Taking over a struggling team in 2015, Des turned the fortunes of the club's second string around and lead his team to two league titles and a highly respectable second place in last seasons Division 2 Ebor.

Everybody at SBCC would like to thank Des for all the time and hard work he has put in both on and off the field.

Martyn progressed through the clubs junior ranks under the guidance of Graham Tipping and takes on the captaincy full of confidence after two prolific seasons opening the batting.

We would like to wish Martyn all the best in his new role.
